Senior Operations Financial Analyst – Columbia HospitalityData Cruncher. Financial modeler. Predictor of success. Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Senior Operations Financial Analyst who will work closely with the Director of Business Development to monitor, collect and analyze data about our organization’s inbound pipeline. Also responsible for writing pre-opening proformas, pre-opening budgets and break-even analysis for specific business line(s) including prospective properties, managed properties or consulting agreements. The primary duties include researching business processes, making reports with recommendations to the company’s management and analyzing the potential impact of their recommendations. The ideal candidate brings tangible operational experience to the table to complement their financial/forecasting acumen.

- Act as financial planning subject matter expert in client meetings.
- Model prospective property revenue and expenses to Columbia Hospitality to determine terms Management Agreement Terms.
- Maintain and update Columbia Hospitality pro forma and investment cash flow model.
- Provide break-even analysis for specific line(s) of business.
- Forecasts revenue and expenses to include labor/staffing guides.
- Assists new properties in mapping and properly reclassifying existing budgets to CH standards.
- Reviews and analyzes competitive reports, including the CBRE Hotel Trend, to benchmark the property against applicable competitive sets.
- Compiles, analyzes and publishes internal benchmarking studies to provide senior management with actionable information to help meet profit goals.
- Analyzes short and long-term forecasting and recommends expense management solutions as necessary to ensure profit goals are met or exceeded.
- Communicates forecasting strategies and procedures to property leaders as required
- Participate in the evaluation of new financial planning solutions and products
- Works with Property leaders to improve accuracy and timeliness of forecast and budget reports.
- 5+ years previous experience in hospitality operations or financial planning and analysis. (Hospitality experience preferred)
- Advanced literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in understanding hotel operations and labor standards.
- Financial management skills, including budget management, expense control and analysis of Profit and Loss statements.
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building.
