Foothill Ventures is a technology-focused venture fund based in Los Altos, California. We make pre-seed, seed (preferred), and A-round investments in startups across software, life science, and deep tech. We are seeking an experienced Senior/Staff Accountant to join our growing startup team. As a Senior/Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, financial analysis, and reporting for the company. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in the development of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
• Support fundraising activities by providing financial analysis and reporting.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.

• 
  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
