HOW A SENIOR STORAGE/SERVER ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provide distributed hosting resources as a service including dynamic and on-demand scaling of resources.
• Provide support for physically and logically segregated servers.
• Manage licensing for all software necessary for compute and storage infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain multiple standard configurations as well as unique configurations.
• Manage and monitor compute and storage resources based on system security designations
• Manage and maintain multiple system platforms for production and non-production environments (i.e., development, testing, staging, production).
• Review requirements, process and execute change requests
• Manage and monitor multiple tiers of provisioning and decommissioning hosting solutions.
• Manage production application/system deployments in accordance with best practices and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Lead team of engineers maintaining cloud resources /infrastructure as code (IaC) on a multi-cloud hosting platform.
• Manage and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines that automate the software delivery process.
• Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
• Oversees complex Server and Storage infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Manage and Maintain object storage on CSPs, define lifecycle configuration rules as per record management requirements, to transition between hot, cold, and archival storage
• Manage and Maintain multiple data storage tiers based on availability, reliability, security and encryption, and redundancy (back-up) factors
• Manage and maintain redundant backup capabilities
• Lead storage forecasting capabilities and reporting to enable to identify and plan for storage growth for systems and the enterprise

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline required. MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related disciplines preferred. Relevant experience can be substituted for education.
• Required Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience of storage engineering, including VMWare management/ administration experience and migrations to the cloud.
• Required Technical Skills:
  • Virtual Server (i.e. VMware, RHEL, AIX)
  • Network-attached storage (NAS)
  • Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (terraform, yaml, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • 3 or more years of Experience working in a Azure or AWS cloud environment.
• Security Clearance Level: The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Public Trust.
• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally; Strong problem-solving skills
• Preferred Skills: Reporting such as after-action report/ Incident reports
• Location: Washington, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland; telework may be available
