We are looking for a Senior Urban Designer/Planner/Transportation Planner to join our Austin Office to focus on urban design and master planning assignments. You will join a multidisciplinary team of planners across the Americas region with a focus on identifying and delivering innovative planning opportunities for a range of client types. Our work seeks to uncover and strengthen the interrelationships between land use, transportation, economic and natural systems while being grounded in sustainable and resilient urban design. The scale of projects can vary from individual site planning assignments to large scale master planning along corridors or in larger districts. We work in partnership with architects, urban designers and transportation planners. We also work independently, leveraging the skills and talents of our Integrated Planning team in partnership with experts in resiliency, civil engineering, building designs and information technologists.

The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of specific urban design and planning/transportation planning experience. Responsible for:
- Coordinating/managing urban planning studies at a variety of scales. Potential projects include urban and master plans, urban analysis and data analytics, waterfront studies, urban and sustainability research, public space design, strategic urban planning, among others.
- Coordinating/managing the preparation of proposals for the public and private sectors.
- Working in partnership with other teams supporting a variety of projects ranging from large infrastructure projects, complex urban revitalization projects to streetscape and public realm design where planning, urban/landscape design and architecture is a key component.
- Ideally experience with decarbonization strategies, climate adaptation, nature-based solutions and/or city resiliency.
- Site planning, transit-oriented development, transit engineering, urban logistics, urban data analysis.
- Responsible for coordinating diverse tasks in small, medium and large, complex, long-term projects – working with many different people/facilities/resources etc. within tight time and budget constraints.
- Lead the preparation of project presentations, graphic materials and coordination and project management activities both within the urban team and the broader office.
- Contributing to building a dynamic, responsible, and innovative urban team and supporting the development of junior staff.
- Executing responsibilities as outlined in the firm’s Quality Management System.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, Economics or related undergraduate studies.
- A must: Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning or Landscape Architecture, Transport Planning or Economics.
- Minimum of 8 years of specific experience in urban design, urban or landscape planning, or transport planning with relevant project experience.
- Solid experiences in urban/landscape design, city and community planning and development, transportation and urban mobility, stakeholder engagement and /or urban data analytics.
- International experience is a plus.
- Proven experience in project management and coordination, client relationship building and business development.
- Strong writing skills.

- Excellent level of written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills, as well as good skills in socioeconomic and geospatial analysis using Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- Good command of digital tools including AutoCad, Revit, Rhino, ArcGis, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience/knowledge of BIM will be a plus.
