Manufacturing Shift Lead – 2nd Shift

Monday - Thursday from 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Position Description:

A shift lead is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing daily tasks to be performed by their department. They must be able to delegate tasks to employees within their department to maintain delivery timelines and quality of work. This position will perform a variety of tasks in addition to their role as a shift lead including their own production tasks along with ensuring general shop cleanliness and maintenance. Must be able to work independently on a list of projects and be responsible for coordinating the completion of the required tasks in a timely manner. Works closely with the Production Manager to ensure all parts and assemblies are fabricated and assembled to the company’s high standards.

General Job Duties:

· Coordinate and delegate project tasks to maintain production schedules

· Fulfill the duties of the Manufacturing Associate role in conjunction with Shop Lead role

· Collaborate with department staff to troubleshoot manufacturing issues

· Notify production manager of any issues or delays as they arise

· Ensure production processes and procedures are being followed by all employees

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment

· Perform and document the maintenance of all machines and equipment

· Notify the purchasing department of shop supply and requirements regarding consumable items, and tooling

· Communicate with management and co-workers through verbal and electronic (e-mail) means

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school graduate or GED

· Minimum 5 years related manufacturing experience

· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment

· Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

· Capable of performing a variety of duties while continuously providing guidance and support to a team of employees.

· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and assemblies

· Detail oriented with an attention to tolerance and finish requirements

· Knowledge of general quality inspection procedures and the ability to inspect part’s conformity to a print dimension

· Commitment to quality in all tasks performed

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Competent with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience leading individuals or teams of employees

· Experience managing manufacturing production schedules

· Working knowledge of electromechanical assemblies, testing, and troubleshooting

· Working knowledge of fluid power systems, testing, and troubleshooting

· Experience with milling machine and part fabrication work

· Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
