Delmarva Design Center is hiring a Sales Associate for its collaborative showroom in Selbyville, DE. The Design Center offers a selection of flooring, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, and appliances. This position will focus on selling a wide variety of flooring products.

Someone with knowledge of flooring products (carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood, and engineered hardwood) is necessary to assist warm leads of homeowners, contractors, builders, and designers in ordering products, scheduling deliveries, and effectively communicating updates.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm with a rotation of Saturdays from 10 am - 3 pm. One weekday off is given when working Saturdays. The salary ranges from $35,000 - $45,000 based on experience plus commission.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluating client needs and creating aesthetically pleasing interior spaces with flooring and tile
• Review client’s design or architectural blueprints, evaluating their needs
• Selecting color schemes, styles, themes, and layouts to bring the approved design to life.
• Staying up to date with the latest trends.
• Ensuring that the clients' message has been conveyed and that they are satisfied with the result.
• Coordinate sales process working with schedules, selections, purchase orders and warranty requests from the Builders and retail customers.
• Develop an extensive knowledge of product base through in person and online training
• Take on site measurements of residential and commercial spaces to accurately determine a materials list

Position Requirements

• At least three years of experience in the flooring industry
• Sales experience
• Good understanding of colors, themes, styles, and layouts of flooring
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to utilize Windows 10, Outlook, and other software
