NexGen Data Systems is seeking a talented Software Product Designer to join a rapidly growing team. This position will work with Engineers to determine if current solutions are efficient/practical and make appropriate suggestions based on customers needs. You will be responsible for the design and development of Research, Development and Acquisition Information System (RDAIS) software for the Department of the Navy (DoN). Duties of this position include improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts of similar products to match quality and performance. The ideal candidate will need to be a team player and be able to work both independently and collaboratively with exceptional organizational skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineers to determine if current solutions are efficient/practical and make appropriate suggestions based on customers needs.
• Responsible for the design and development of Research, Development and Acquisition Information System (RDAIS) software.
• Improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts of similar products to match quality and performance.
• Responsible for the creation of design concepts and drawings to determine the best product. Present product ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming sessions.
• Suggest improvements to design and performance to Product Engineers.
• Employ design concepts into functional prototypes.
• Perform research on product technologies and structures to implement into design concepts. Coordinate with designers to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design phase.
• Modify and revise existing designs to meet Functional Sponsor and User expectations.

Desired/Required Skills:

• 6+ years’ experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git/Tanzu)
• Experience working in a DoD and Agile Development environment that combines Lean, Scrum, and XP frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture.
• Ability to correlate requirements to specific tasking.
• Familiarity with JIRA, User Stories and updating Jira tickets to with appropriate levels of content.
• Experience with documentation (Atlassian Confluence).
• Experience supporting CI/CD and application build and deploy (Tanzu/Git).
• Experience with Network Infrastructure including Big IP/F5, VPN, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP is a plus.
• 6+ years’ experience working as a Software Product Designer.
• Comfortable supporting the development of Cloud Services.
• Familiarity with Navy Acquisition Lifecycle reporting, Adaptive Acquisition Framework, AVDF Elements a plus.
• Experience improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts.
• Experience designing concepts and drawings to determine the best product.
• Secret clearance or higher required.
• 8570 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
