Job description
We are looking for a trainee who will join the Epic implementation team to assist in maintaining the Epic software application across UTHealth and its clinics. You will work with program management professionals in support of the Office of the CMIO to service the top tier healthcare Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, EPIC. These trainees will participate in the projects across clinical technology and learn best practice IT skills. The end result is to help keep developing a system that will is having an immediate impact on UTHealth patients, providers, and staff. This is a part time role which is designed to introduce a candidate to the world of healthcare administration and software analysis. It is perfect for people seeking entry level experience in this field after having gotten a degree that lends itself to this area. Work experience can be considered in lieu of a formal school program.
This is a part time role meaning it will not require more than 19 hours per week. The work location will be in the heart of the Medical Center in our University Professional Building. This structure is on the Metro lines for both bus and light rail service. These roles will be compensated on an hourly basis and classified as non-exempt.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Assists in training curriculum technology solutions and building course catalogs that will be available to our clinicians and end-users
2. Assists in testing of the EPIC EMR system.
3. Assists in planning and execution of roadshows and engagement events to prepare end-users for the new system.
4. Assists with coordinating with internal resources and third parties/vendors for on-time completion of deliverables.
5. Assists with on-going support to users/clients to ensure that problems are resolved.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Dependable team member who is self-motivated, energetic, wants to learn, great at troubleshooting, has an affinity to training and technology and enjoys a fast-paced environment. Detail oriented, able to work under tight time frames, multi-task, prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner. Good reasoning capabilities.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree required preferably in Information Systems or Healthcare Administration. May substitute required education with equivalent years of additional experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
