The Camp Verde Community Library STEAM Outreach VISTA will serve the youth throughout the community to provide needed educational and safe alternatives to youth and families who face several socio-economic challenges, including high poverty, weak family structures, high crime, summer learning loss, and lack of preparation for STEAM careers through the framework of the Mobile STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) Unit. The VISTA will build capacity in the objectives and activities outlined below. The VISTA will be working with city staff, education partners, and community members. During the year as a VISTA with the Camp Verde Library, a VISTA can expect to build relationships with local schools, develop new programs, and partner with internal stakeholders.The Alliance VISTA team offers monthly professional development, a state-wide network of support, and beauty that can only be found in rural Arizona.

Tasks include: 1)Implement a high quality, sustainable STEAM program that achieves targeted objectives of four events that serves the needs of the community and one community learning opportunity. 2)Recruit and develop a volunteer team of STEAM external stakeholders and strategic partners to oversee Mobile STEAM Lab development and operations. 3)Develop a marketing and communication plan to include disseminating lessons, resources, and documents over social media and throughout the community. 4)Ensure there is a sustainable transfer of knowledge, products, and relationships to the appropriate member/volunteer/staff who will be picking up elements of your project after your service year.

This is an AmeriCorps National Service position. This service opportunity is one year, full-time, and offers a stipend. The service opportunity includes: Living Allowance, Relocation Allowance, End of Service Award, Healthcare Benefit, Non-Competitive Eligibility, and Professional Development training. The position is located in Camp Verde, AZ with the Camp Verde Community Library.
