ESY/Low Incidence Summer School Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
Teachers will be employed to direct students and supervise educational aides in the district's ESY/ L ow Incidence Summer Progarm. Intervention will be offered for identified low incidence students. Teacher is responsible for providing the planning and implementation of recreational activities for a group of 8-10 students. Although teachers may indicate the grade level they prefer, the decision for assignment will be based on students' needs. Employment will be based on sufficient student enrollment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan daily activities for autism students.
- Provide for student differences through a variety of instructional modes and strategies, including small and large group instruction.
- Develop and utilize instructional materials, media, and techniques appropriate to the ability level of students.
- Complete program student report evaluation for students at the completion of the summer program.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Perform routine activities.
- Complete other professional responsibilities as necessary and assigned.
- Supervise educational aides and summer staff.
- Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
- Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
- Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
- Bachelors or advanced degree.
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching certificate,
- Candidate with autism teaching experience preferred but will consider all applicants.
- Ability to work with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experience.
- Ability to work cooperatively with local district staff, community, parents, and students.
- High personal and professional standards.
- Various office machines, such as calculators, copiers, laminating machines.
- Computer/printer.
- Some specialized equipment used by students with disabilities; for example, amplification devices, medical devices and specialized computers.
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
- Van training as required or requested.
- Possible interaction with unruly or angry children, or distraught adults.
- Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, stretch, reach with hands and arms, stoop, crouch and kneel.
- Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, adaptive equipment, up to 25 lbs.
- Possible requirement to lift children, restrain children, push wheelchairs or otherwise assist with ambulation.

- June 12 - 15
- June 19 - 22
- July 10 - 13
- July 17 - 20
- Salary for Summer School Teachers - $25.00 per hour.
- Hours 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Can work 1, 2 3, or all 4 weeks
- 2 days of set-up (1 in June and 1 in July)
