Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for conducting the evaluation of the 8th Avenue Foods & Provisions customer supply chain, warehousing management and the balancing of the network. The Supply Chain Manager will provide a strategic analysis to identify supply chain improvement opportunities. The position will serve as the subject matter expert in the 8th Avenue supply chain network for one of our manufacturing plants. This role is tasked with managing and leading the distribution requirements team to ensure service levels are met while maintaining cost. This role will work with all facets of the organization to have an extensive and deep knowledge of the 8th Avenue supply chain network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with demand planning and ensure forecasts are provided to key suppliers on a monthly basis.
• Establish and ensure suppliers maintain correct DOH and floor stocks levels across their networks.
• Ensure materials and supplies are ordered and available in a timely manner to support plant operations.
• Oversee process of material complaints and claims across suppliers based on mutual agreements.
• Escalate and partner key risks with supply and work with procurement to mitigate.
• Minimize movement of materials and supplies across the internal network.
• Manage and report on performance of carriers; collaborate with central procurement to influence contracts and service agreements based on performance.
• Establish a claims management and execution process on vendors and carriers that continually fail service levels.
• Work with central supply chain team to balance DOH versus targets and projections when planning production and scheduling.
• Collaborate with central supply chain on OTIF reports; identify gaps and adjust production plans to remediate.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure lean flow of finished product to outside warehouses and customers.
• Prepare a production schedule across all assets– with correct sequencing – to manage quality/regulatory needs, maximize line run tie, minimize changeovers and risks, optimize warehouse storage/deliveries.
• Lead scheduling meetings in accordance with schedule meeting standards to align schedule with cross-functional teams and adjust as required.
• Work with central supply chain team in maintenance and upkeep of planning books, planning values and PSI report.
• Work with production manager on run rates and align production plan accordingly to ensure balance between shift schedules and production demand.
• Work with the management team to prepare daily floor schedules with key events called out; production requirements called out and properly communicated.
• Design and implementation of product sequencing and scheduling wheel.
• Prepare analysis and reports on key process indicators to track schedule attainment / anomalies.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities with the planning and scheduling teams.
• Ensure freight is planned and executed in accordance with contracts and best pricing options. Ensure freight loads are optimized and maximum weight shipped across carriers.
• Direct oversight of all warehouse operations; material management, shipping/receiving and order picking/processing.
• Warehouse management to ensure material handling controls, cycle counting controls, warehouse standards are maintained to ensure efficiency and lean flow of goods in warehouse.
• Partner with plant finance functions to ensure all production recording is done accurately and timely with yield variances investigated and remediated.
• Establish and execute a process to regularly review aged/ at-risk inventory across the network and work with sales to minimize losses.
• Apply other methods to maintain inventory accuracy, yield losses and adherence and upkeep of warehouse standards.
• Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse operations.
• Manage warehouse associates to ensure execution of warehouse activities in a safe manner and in accordance with accepted industry standards.
• Set warehouse and team goals in accordance with operational and central goals. Execute warehouse strategy to achieve sustainable results across all agreed KPIs.
• SKU rationalization – finished goods, materials, packaging and supplies.
• Logistics network simplification in conjunction with central supply chain team.
• In conjunction with operations manager, support process standardization and simplification opportunities.
• Process implication across material order, delivery, transportation planning, scheduling and other relevant functions.
• Establish a playbook across plants to ensure plant capabilities are defined and explained to key stakeholders.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in supply chain, logistics, mathematics or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in supply chain management.
• Experience managing people and or functional teams.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in JDE, Oracle or SAP.
• Intermediate proficiency in Tableau or similar data analytics package.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,
• Advanced knowledge of transportation, supply chain and logistics concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to deliver results in a highly dynamic and evolving environment.
• Experience in leading and managing projects with the ability to take ownership of the timeline and deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to contributors and leadership.

Licenses & Certifications Required:

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• CSCP (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $132,341.00 per year
