Since founding the firm in 1946 in Gainesville, Florida we have grown into the communities of Ocala, Tallahassee, Sarasota and Orlando. Below describes our Senior Tax Associate position. Essential functions and requirements will vary based on the position level.

Senior Tax Associate Essential Functions:

• Prepare individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexities
• Prepare quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planning
• Perform diversified accounting and tax assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager or partner
• Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and firm standards
• Know, understand and abide by the firm’s policies and procedures
• Meet time constraints and client deadlines
• Prepare other reports, projects and duties as may be assigned
• Possess technical knowledge sufficient to assist staff tax associates
• Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationship and loyalty
• Participate in firm training courses to further develop technical skills
• Become proficient at tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm
• Provide timely and high-quality services and deliverables that exceed client expectations
• Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications

Senior Tax Associate Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (5th year equivalent preferred)
• 2+ years recent public accounting experience preferred
• CPA or current CPA candidate preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Must maintain strict client confidentiality
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Review of federal and state income tax returns
• Analytical approach to tax laws and regulations
• Ability to work closely with clients in the preparation of tax returns
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies
• Time management and organization skills
• Knowledge of tax and accounting principles
• Possess the resourcefulness and determination necessary to meet hard deadlines

Pay: $33,758.00 - $132,442.00 per year
