Job description
The Technical Continuity Specialist is responsible to support TIAA’s fiduciary responsibility to stakeholders and compliance with federal, state and local financial industry regulations related to technical continuity and disaster recovery. This role involves developing, implementing and executing programs, procedures and controls to ensure TIAA can meet technical continuity and disaster recovery responsibilities.

- Work with IT Technical Continuity to create and influence Policies, Standards and Procedures.
- Prepare IT associates to use disaster recovery processes and tools necessary to fulfill TIAA policies, standards and regulatory requirements such as: documentation of technical continuity plans, procedures, and processes periodic tests and exercises to validate technical continuity solutions, plans and procedures.
- Facilitate IT compliance with disaster recovery controls.
- Drive continuous improvement of TIAA’s disaster recovery capabilities and processes.
- Ensures all appropriate metrics are captured and prepares documentation relating to scheduled DR events.
- Identify risks related to disaster recovery and resiliency.
- Assess technical continuity of TIAA managed applications.
- Assess technical continuity of 3rd party products.
- Facilitate 3rd party technical continuity risk management.
- Facilitate the development of risk remediation action plans.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical continuity or a related field experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
- Knowledge of technical infrastructure and systems, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Technically Proficient in technical solution building tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Service Now, MarketPlace, Tableau, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, Business Continuity, or Disaster Recovery are a plus.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
