Technical Writer

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 months (possibility of extension)

Job Summary:

• Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, policies, and procedures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. Gathers, analyzes, translates, and composes technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create documentation methodology and framework.
• Responsible for the quality of all written products assigned and assuring they are delivered in accordance with schedule requirements
• Produce high quality technical documentation as required
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel
• Review published materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction
• Produce/facilitate graphics and supporting material to assure documents are complete and professional
• Drive standard documentation formats and ensure company standards are maintained and policies are adhered to
• Make sure all documentation emphasizes Federal and State Compliance standards
• Liaise with various groups as necessary to assure cross functional needs are met
• Support presentation material development and documentation to reflect department plans and summary information
• Interview engineering personnel and read trade publications and other material to become familiar with product technologies
• Other support activities as required by Operations Manager

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years oftechnical writing experience
• ITIL (preferred not required)

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or other related field.
