This position with our local NYC team is focused on Next Generation 9-1-1 Solutions. Job Description
The Software & Service Implementation team comprises Project Management, System Engineering, Field Engineers and Operational Support personnel working together in a high performance culture, often with demanding cycle times and high customer expectations because we are working on mission critical communication systems.

This Test Engineer position will take responsibility for validating the functionality of our Next Generation 9-1-1 technology systems in New York City.

You will:
Perform critical system testing and validation in a DevOps, automation first environment

Develop and maintain current test cases, test plans, and the test procedures

Assist in creating and setup up of test equipment and the preparation of the system to be tested

Work with other technical leads to establish and document test requirements and performance goals.

Identify, implement, and/or recommend test tools

Create scripts necessary to accomplish test activities

Ensures accuracy and completeness of technical documentation

Strive to exceed customer expectations

Success in this role is highly dependent upon the ability to proactively learn the intricacies of the solution and work collaboratively. Successful candidates will take ownership of activities on the system and see them through to resolution.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience or familiarity with automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab, JSON or YAML, Rundeck or Jenkins).

Familiarity with VMware, Windows, Linux, and container solutions (VCD, NSX-t,ProxMox).

Familiarity with networking protocols and utilizing networking testing tools, such as Wireshark.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools and platforms (Elastic, Science Logic, Splunk, BMC Bladelogic, and others).

Proven track record of exhibiting strong judgment and adherence to ethical standards.

Strong problem solving skills, analytical abilities, and ability to deliver high performance.

Some (< 25%) travel outside of the New York Metro Area may be required for all project phases, from design through final acceptance.

This is a hybrid position that will require on-site work at customer sites in NYC.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Salary Range: $57,700 - $95,300 per year

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (BSEE/BSCE/BSCS or MS preferred)

Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
