Description: Salary commensurate with experience: $65,000 to $74,000
Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

The Therapist provides crisis intervention, intake assessment, individual, family and group therapy to adults, children and families with a history of mental illness. This includes coordinating support services to assist clients with independent living. The Therapist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining documentation of client services within clients’ charts, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies’ standards and guidelines.
CMH 0-21 program provides a full range of mental health services by SHIELDS’ clinicians specifically trained to work with this population. Our clinicians are trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and participate in ongoing research. SHIELDS integrates services into other programs, including Healthy Start, Welcome Baby, Home Visitation, and Substance Abuse Treatment programs through our Child Development Center.

Requirements: Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree-Registered or licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ACSW, AMFT, APCC, LMFT, LCSW or LPCC.
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
  • Current California driver’s license, valid car insurance and registration.
  • DMH documentation and EXYM experience a plus.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish *Preferred*
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
