- High School diploma or equivalent
- Motor coordination, manual & finger dexterity
- Enroll in Tool & Die Apprenticeship Program in the Saginaw area
- Industrial Truck & Overhead Crane License

Job Summary
Under Journeyman’s guidance, design, build, and repair trim tools and/or blow molds that are capable of producing quality parts.
Essential Job Functions
- Promotes safety awareness, educates, and enforces all safety rules throughout the plant with the goal set at zero plant related injuries.
- Design and build trim tools and/or blow molds.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all tooling machines, trim tools and/or blow molds on and off line as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, written and verbal instructions. Advise the toolroom supervisor on a weekly basis of the progress being made on the tooling programs being worked on.
- Plan the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools considering the types of materials, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, machine tool feeds and speed.
- Cut and weld all types of materials.
- Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision gauging tools and measuring, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.
- Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and molds using hand tools of the trade.
- Have a good understanding of interdepartmental functions to ensure that program schedules and objectives are met.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems with jigs, fixtures, tools and molds and correct them.
- Robotic systems troubleshooting, adjustments, fabrication of components; basic robotic integration.
- Follow all QMS and EMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
- General Housekeeping; keep work area clean and organized at all times per the 6-S Standard
- Support Continuous Improvement team activities as assigned.
