Title: Transportation Driver
Location: MCRC-Dayton, OH
Job Description:
The Transportation Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of potential and established subjects to and from the clinical site as assigned. Completes all transportation procedures, and other duties as assigned, under the direction of the Site Director or designated manger. Maintains accurate, confidential files and documentation of study participants. In executing these position responsibilities, the Transportation Specialist is guided by Good Clinical Practices (GCP), International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and company standard operating procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:
- In a safe and responsible manner transports potential subjects, established subjects, and various items as assigned
- Maintains principles of good customer service during all interactions with subjects
- Accurately completes and submits all necessary paperwork such as daily transportation sheets and credit card receipts
- Adheres to seat belt, cell phone use laws including texting, and ensures passengers comply as well
- Does not smoke in company vehicle and ensures passengers comply as well
- Keeps company vehicle free from damage, in acceptable condition, and consistently clean
- Reports any damage or mechanical malfunctions to the Site Director in a timely manner
- Works hours as required including overtime as needed
- Maintains a valid driver’s license
- Maintains an excellent driving record with no more than two violations on the employee’s driving record at any given time
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Has basic understanding of regulatory requirements, HIPAA, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines
- Able to communicate with clients, providers, co-workers, sponsors, and others in a collaborative and courteous manner
- Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal)
- Requires substantial concentration in various traffic and road conditions to remain alert and responsive despite potential distractions from passengers
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills to include Word, Excel, as well as proprietary applications unique to the clinical research industry (such as Study Manager)
