Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients safely to/from all patient units & designated treatment areas in a timely manner and in accordance with prescribed procedures
  • Perform or assist with the movement of patients; assist with transport/transfer of patients from chair/bed, bed/stretcher, etc.
  • Performance of specific environmental and support functions
  • Maintenance of required supplies and equipment; ensure equipment used for transport is safe, clean, and easily accessible
  • Practice effective communication and collaboration with other health care members

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • Current or previous experience as a transporter preferred
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and/or patients with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to be flexible and self-directed
  • Effective interpersonal skills

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.91 - $22.25 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
