JOB SUMMARY

The Night Auditor is responsible for assisting guests with their overnight requests and balance accounts from the day shift. They check guests in who arrive at night, handle guest requests, and take reservations. The night auditor also reconciles all accounts, processes invoices, and handles other accounting-related tasks. The Night Auditor's role is to provide excellent customer service to guests and keep the front desk and accounting operations running smoothly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process guest charges and credit cards, reconciling all forms of payment to guest accounts.
• Post charges to the guest accounts that have not been posted or were incurred on the night audit shift.
• Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts.
• Verify that all charges posted to the guest folios are correct and not missing.
• Verify all account postings and balances.
• Prepare end of day procedures.
• Follow night audit checklist completely.
• Run end of day process in PMS.
• Understand the principles of auditing, accounting, and closing out accounts.
• Inform next shift of any issues of any kind.
• Print reports correctly and provide them to the General Manager.
• Answer telephones and direct telephone traffic as necessary.
• Make, modify, and cancel guest reservations at the guest' request.
• Check guests in and out of the hotel.
• Assign rooms and issue key cards to guests following hotel protocols.
• Provide information about hotel services to interested parties.
• Provide assistance with recommendations and directions to restaurants/shows/ attractions, etc.
• Receive payments and post payments to the correct rooms.
• Handle guest complaints and escalate complaints that cannot be addressed to the General Manager.
• Complete online training as assigned by the deadline date.
• Count cash drawer upon arrival to work and at end of shift. Notify management of any shortages/overages immediately.
• Close out accounts at end of each shift and complete all required end of shift reports.
• Report to work in the correct uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
• Exhibit an outgoing and friendly demeanor and professional attitude.
