Job description
The member will be primarily responsible for coordinating dinners and program activities for the Strengthening Families program in Pinal County. This program will run for 2 hours each week for a 16-week period. The member will help plan, coordinate and implement a graduation celebration for the families that complete the program. In addition, the member will be trained to conduct vision, hearing and developmental screenings for children ages birth to 5. The Developmental and Sensory program offers early childhood screenings for children age’s birth to 5. The screening team travels to schools, libraries, Head Starts, community events and home visits across Pinal County. Members will also identify community resources to offer to families participating in the screening activities. Members will participate in several community outreach events over the year to promote parent education, sensory screenings and nutrition education. To provide these services members will be required to attend on-going training sessions and participate in service events. The ideal member will be a team player but can also work independently without constant supervision.

Member Duties : • Attend on-going training sessions and participate in service events;• Provide nutrition education, gardening, and physical activity to at least 75 youth (ages 5 to 19) through public speaking and presentations through After School programs;• Provide nutritious meals and nutrition education for at least 30 children (ages 2 to 19) whose parents are involved in parent education programs; • Provide hands-on afterschool programs teaching life skills and practical information (i.e. clothing construction, leadership, cooking, community service, nutrition etc.) through public speaking and information dissemination through After School programs and community outreach events; • Be certified in sensory screening and developmental screenings through UACE certified staff; • Assist with sensory and developmental program • Be involved in Read-On Copper Corridor activities to improve literacy opportunities for low-income residents in Pinal County.
