The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Perioperative Services Business Manager the Unit Coordinator performs clerical, billing, scheduling, phone reception, and communication tasks associated with diagnostic and procedural services for departments including, but not limited to Cath Lab, OCU, PACU, PAT, Endoscopy and Surgery. Additionally, the unit coordinator may provide clerical support and perform other duties which may require independent judgment, demand personal initiative, ingenuity, organization, and discipline. The unit coordinator will provide services for all ages and act as a liaison between registration, clinical, and clerical staff within applicable departments.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Two (2) years of experience as a healthcare customer service representative or front office experience.
  • Experience with customer relations.
  • Experience with multiple phone lines coordination.
  • Experience with acute care records
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Medical Terminology class
  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in the computer.
  • Type 50 wpm Computer experience, including Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner, MS4, etc)
  • Basic knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance billing and authorization processes.
Preferred:
  • Cerner experience
  • Completion of formal Medical Assistant and/or Medical Billing / Coding training

Pay Range
$ 34.33 - $35.21 /hour
