The
IT Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing Information Technology projects from scope definition and financial estimation through requirements, planning, testing, and implementation. The Sr. IT Project Manager role requires experience with large, complex projects and demands excellence in communication as well as organizational and time management skills. The role also includes mentoring of more junior project managers as well as the ability to contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives for the PMO.

Project Planning
- Leads the coordination with Carenet business sponsors and IT resources to define the scope and requirements for strategic projects.
- Collaborates with business and IT leadership to identify resources needed for project delivery.
- Prepares budgetary estimates for assigned projects.
- Leads project planning activities to define tasks, deadlines, owners and key milestones, as specified by the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Proactively looks for ways to mitigate resource constraints and other risks, associated with the timeline.
- Establishes best practices for managing projects in application development or infrastructure.
Project Execution
- Works with development resources to translate business requirements into technical designs. Assists in defining features and functions for software releases, as required by project needs. Pulls in subject matter experts to address issues, as needed.
- Manages the software development lifecycle for the project, including development, testing, organizational readiness and UAT.
- Tactfully drives project team members to complete deliverables according to approved project plan
- Create deployment plans and manage activities needed to ensure a smooth cutover.
Project Monitoring and Reporting
- Meets with business sponsors and key stakeholders as per communication plan to review project progress and discuss issues.
- Resolves issues with the appropriate level of management.
- Actively manage project financials to include tracking of actuals and forecasts to complete
- Effectively manages “scope creep” by building consensus about the necessity to change the approved project plan.
- Produces and professionally communicates the accurate and timely project status reports to executives
Project Closure
- Ensures operational teams are provided sufficient system/software knowledge to transfer into production
- Collects retrospectives and lessons learned throughout the project and recommends process improvements to the PMO.
- Proactively closes all project related contracts and financial obligations.
Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, engineering or science, or the equivalent in related work experience.
- MBA preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Experience with Agile software development preferred
- Seven or more years of experience in a business or IT environment, including three or more years in an IT project management role, demonstrating knowledge of ServiceNow®, Smartsheet® or other project management software programs.
- Proven leadership of highly analytical and technical teams.
- Excellent people management and influencing skills.
- Leads by example, creating a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work.
- Strong knowledge of the software industry and software product management.
- Excellence in communication to all levels of the business
