We have an opening for a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant! We are looking for an enthusiastic, animal loving, positive team player.

If you like a quiet, civilly paced, privately owned, family style practice that emphasizes compassionate, exceptional veterinary care to an awesome local clientele, then this will be a great opportunity for you! Duties include assisting with the care and handling of dogs and cats involving all aspects of veterinary care.

Qualifications:

Two plus years of previous veterinary or animal-related experience is desired.

Key Responsibilities of a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant include:

• Assisting veterinarians in physical exams, surgeries, and diagnostic tests
• Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Collecting and analyzing laboratory samples, such as blood and urine
• Providing nursing care to animals, including wound care, bandaging, and administering fluids
• Monitoring vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, during surgical procedures and anesthesia
• Educating pet owners about animal care and nutrition
• Maintaining and organizing medical records and inventory
• Reviewing over-discharge/aftercare instructions with clients.

We are a paperless practice; thus, this job requires a general proficiency with computers and basic typing skills. We are a small group, so we multitask to help the patient and each other when we need to. Thus, there are times when you will need to jump in and help with the phones, schedule an appointment, etc.

This position can be Part-time 20 to 24 hrs/week or Full-time of 32 – 40hrs/week Monday thru Friday.

Hourly pay is $18 to $32/ hr. depending on experience and includes an attractive compensation package including health insurance, PTO, holiday pay and pet discounts.
