The Vice President of Clinical Operations oversees all clinical operational elements of the Saratoga Hospital Medical Group (SHMG) and ambulatory services. In conjunction with the Vice President of operations, drives strategic initiatives aimed at increasing physician engagement; enhancing clinical outcomes; and driving incremental growth and market share for the group. In alignment with the hospital’s leadership and strategic and operating plans, the Vice President of clinical operations is responsible for developing strategies for clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and growth. Growth strategies will reinforces the use of effective tactics associated with building strong physician relationships. This leader will serve as a member of the senior executive team and will interact routinely with hospital and physician leadership to provide guidance, share insight and identify opportunities/barriers to growth. The Vice President of Clinical Operations serves as a clinical and professional coach who actively evaluates physician visits, de-briefs on effectiveness, crafts development plans and is responsible for ensuring that the right administrative processes, reporting, analysis and technology supports are in place to support the physicians and enable overall SHMG success. This position is 100% administrative, however it may be possible to accommodate up to 20% clinical time depending on the specialty and local practice requirements of the selected candidate.

Education, Training & Experience

Requires a minimum of a MD or DO. Master’s degree in business or healthcare management preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a large medical or multispecialty practice required with demonstrated performance in Clinical Quality Oversight, business development, marketing, revenue cycle management, practice operations and process and performance improvement. Successful experience in a network development environment; experience in physician relations network, marketing or business development required. A thorough knowledge of physician, hospital and healthcare issues including managed care/reimbursement, practice operation issues, credentialing, recruitment, and governance.

Certifications / Licensure

FACHE, ACP Certification, AAPL (or alternative) strongly preferred.
