TEAM: Human Resources

POSITION: VP, Human Resources - The Vice President of Human Resources (HR) will be responsible for leading the HR department, managing all aspects of human resources operations, and developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. The role requires a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, particularly the food and beverage sector, and experience in leading and developing a team of HR professionals. Knowledge of manufacturing-related regulations and plant operations is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the HR organization, including multiple site-specific, Director-level direct reports and provide guidance and support to ensure they are delivering effective HR services and programs.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as manufacturing-related compliances, and align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee development of the compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and meet the needs of employees and the company.
  • Oversee administration of the company's employee benefit plans, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits programs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of employee relations policies and programs that foster a positive work environment and address employee interests and concerns.
  • Serve as primary HR resource for C-suite, corporate leaders, and site-specific upper management.
  • Oversee site-specific, Director-level direct reports as they support managers on employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including but not limited to EEO, OSHA, FMLA, GMPs, HACCP, and FSMA.
  • Cooperate with corporate leaders and legal counsel to mitigate employment-related liability and exposure.
  • Develop HR Key Performance Indicators and data reports to understand efficiency and identify areas of opportunity in our HR strategy.
  • Maintain knowledge of manufacturing plant operations, including production scheduling, inventory management, quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Proactively identify and address HR-related business issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HR staff, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices and recommend improvements to HR policies and practices.
  • Willingness to obtain additional credentials and/or certifications as requested, e.g., SHRM California Employment Law Micro-Credential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional HR certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in HR leadership roles in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on the food and beverage sector is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor law, regulatory compliance, risk and exposure mitigation and management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing-related regulations and plant operations.
