Warehouse Lead in Tukwila, WA
Department: Warehouse / Store
Position: Non-Exempt
Starting at $21 / hour~
The Warehouse Lead has the important role of quality assurance and inventory accuracy of all products throughout the receiving, stocking, staging and disposing of all products. The Warehouse Lead understands the urgency of accurate redistribution of goods from storage onto trucks for delivery and respects that our customers expect high quality products in excellent condition. Our procedures require care, a positive attitude, safety awareness and good organizational skills. All our positions are expected to uphold our commitment to value, quality and design.
In addition to the normal duties of a Warehouse Associate, our Leads provide first line level supervision for a shift or department, providing training for new associates and provide input on performance feedback. They will also be given assignments in accordance with their shift or department.
What You Will Do
- Provide leadership in the department or shift as assigned.
- Resolve inventory issues between DC and store primarily focusing on fly by and damage inventory discrepancies.
- Process claims for DBR or wholesale billing.
- Inventory and organize parts and hardware.
- Distribute parts and merchandise to stores following all distribution processes and procedures.
- Clearly communicate with and help store employees with their questions and needs.
- Order and stock warehouse supplies to ensure an adequate level is maintained.
- Informs appropriate people of merchandise problems that are discovered.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure we are safety/OSHA compliant in the use and storage of hazardous materials used in the department such as paints, finishes, etc.
- Maintain accurate and accessible MSDS binders.
- Complete assigned vendor checks.
- Assist other workers whenever needed.
- Use a PC to look up inventory information.
- Acquire, maintain and apply an ample level of product and customer knowledge.
- Practice procedures for safety and security at all times and in accordance with Company Standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance within the working environment and with all equipment and tools.
- Occasional work assignments at a store.
- Answering Department Phones.
- Distribution Center maintenance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Who You Are
MUST:
- Submit to the following prior to employment:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Physical screening
- Background check
- Motor vehicle record check
- Be subject to random and post-accident drug screening.
- Have a valid state issued driver’s license.
- 18 years or older is preferred.
- Use a hand truck, understand assemblies and correctly operate small power tools.
- Able to lift 75 lbs., unassisted, moving furniture in distribution center, warehouse and on deliveries.
- Obtaining forklift certification is required at some of our facilities.
- Capable of successfully completing our pre-employment background, physical and drug screening and be subject to random and post-accident drug screening.
- Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping.
- Exposure to external weather, heat and cold.
- Exposure to noise.
- Exposure to moving machinery/Forklift/Pallet lift.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent GED, 2+ years’ work experience is a plus.
