Application Scientist - NGS

Waltham, MA

Your tasks:

The Application Scientist is responsible for building and managing a lab workflow for Multiomics and NGS applications while closely interacting with R&D teams and working and training with collaborators and early customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following, but not limited to:

• Build and maintain application lab for Multiomics workflow for market development and reference data generation at Waltham site.
• Provide training to collaborators and early access customers on existing Miltenyi lab workflows.
• Perform customer experiments using developed applications
• Provide input to improve current procedures, protocols, and/or methods and documents results accordingly
• Perform duties independently; requiring action and judgment to solve commonly encountered problems.
• Must be able to travel to other Miltenyi sites both domestically and internationally

Requirements:

• Ph.D. or M.S. in in immunology, immune-oncology or related fields with 3 years of relevant industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong Experience in histology, immunohistochemistry and imaging.
• Excellent understanding of the underlying technical principles of next generation sequencing chemistries and workflows, associated instrumentation platforms and data analysis and interpretation algorithms is a plus.

This job also requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites, vendor shows, and demonstrations. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE or SOP procedures.
