Job Purpose:
  • The Assistant Product Manager assists the Product Manager and is responsible for the purchase, stock management and logistics co-ordination of products and merchandise for boutique operations. This includes giving product support to retail sales teams and visual merchandising teams, while adhering to purchase budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist in the review of OTB and sales forecast/targets for the product categories based on sales performance history and market trends and taking market opportunities while maintaining optimal sell through %.
  • To assist in management of stock/inventory level of all items sold in Fashion boutiques by reviewing sales records and forecast periodically. Achieve stock coverage objectives (boutique transfers, action plans on aged or discontinued stocks, regional transfers, monitor delivery status, re-orders, best and slow sellers …etc.).
  • Conduct accurate analysis of the current business including product / SKU sales, stock and sell through analyses per boutique, product segments, client segments, size, colors, styles etc.
  • Monitor delivery status of all seasonal and permanent merchandise, manage stock and control inventory. Ensure Reorder merchandise is properly re-ordered and best sellers are never out of stock.
  • To arrange allocation and transfers of category between boutiques
  • To participate in buying/purchases.
  • To administer the purchase order operation as well as assist in conducting pre and post buy with boutique team.
  • Work on pricing/tagging information and data management.
  • To liaise with boutique team/After Sales Service coordinators on the quality issues and work with the QC & After Sales Service Manager on such issues.
  • Drive business results: in collaboration with Retail team, propose product incentives, ensure relevant transfers between boutiques, and transfer stock to and from overseas markets if required.
  • Synergise with Visual Merchandising team on VM buying for windows, product / season launches and adhoc actions for commercial needs. Work with VM on identifying slow sellers and to communicate this to VM team.
  • Prepare markdown and write-off list in accordance to CAP’s recommendation
  • Spend at least 25% of time on regular visits to the boutique to explore opportunities, review assortment, display and other merchandising issues.
Academic / Professional Qualifications
  • At least a University degree
Work Experience
  • At least 5 Years extensive experience as a Fashion Buyer in RTW and Shoes merchandising & luxury retail.

  • Strong background in analysis both quantitative and qualitative
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Professional presentation skills
  • Ability to interact well with all divisions and coach the team
