Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Neighborhood Human and Social Services Coordination: Under the direction of the WUMC Executive Director and other institutional representatives.
- Works with neighborhood resource providers, institutional representatives and other stakeholders to evaluate, develop and implement human and social service programming throughout the targeted neighborhood.
- Serves as project coordinator for WUMC funding initiatives addressing human and social service needs.
- Works with the Adams Park Community Center and the Adams Elementary School to develop, support and improve programming and educational opportunities for neighborhood residents.
- Works with Washington University and BJC HealthCare representatives to increase opportunities in Forest Park Southeast for undergraduate and graduate practicum opportunities in the areas of social work, community health nursing, arts and sciences, and other human and social service disciplines.
- Designs, implements and maintains a data tracking system of human and social services indicators (employment, health, education, etc).
- Prepares appropriate periodic reports and presentations.
WUMC Office Team Duties: Under the direction of the WUMC Executive Director.
- Provides technical assistance to neighborhood groups and stakeholders as needed.
- Attends appropriate neighborhood meetings to maintain a positive relationship with neighborhood residents and stakeholders.
- Assists the WUMC Executive Director with special projects and tasks as assigned.
- Maintains appropriate records and documentation of projects and programs.
- Assists with the development and production of the WUMC Annual Report.
Working Conditions
- This position is housed in an off-site neighborhood community center with substantial contact with the public.
- The position requires some evening and weekend meetings.

- This position requires an effective communicator with the ability to relate to individuals and groups from a diverse social-economic, racial, cultural and lifestyle backgrounds.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and exercise discretion with dealing with various forms of information maintained by and routed through this office.
- Self-motivated, timely and well organized.
- The ability to exercise tact when coordinating work with other personnel, departments and community organizations. In many instances, this position provides a “first impression” of WUMC and its affiliate organizations to community groups and stakeholders.
- Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency in basic computer operations using Windows, Excel, Power Point, and Word.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Urban Planning or other related field and two years experience in community development.
Grade
G10Salary Range
$47,300.00 - $78,200.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Accommodation
