Data Governance Specialist (EXEMPT)

We are looking to hire a Data Governance Specialist to work alongside and support our data governance team. Data governance is the process of handling the availability, usability, integrity and security of the data in enterprise systems, based on internal data standards and policies that also control data usage.

This role will be working with each of our product teams to understand the requirements needed to setup items to go to market. Understanding the retail side, item set up integrity, knowledge of industry standards and current trends will be a valuable asset for this position.

The ideal candidate should have a desire to work with data integrity on multiple platforms including our in-house systems and understand material master data. Must be able to handle adversity across multiple teams in a diplomatic manner, explaining the needs of the business.

The position is located in our headquarters in Stoughton, MA and will report to the Data Governance Manager.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all things related to product item information (SME)
  • Create and maintain all master data attributes in proper systems
  • Handles data scrubbing
  • Monitor and resolve conflicting data issues to ensure quality rules are being followed
  • Provide end user support for master data related inquiries
  • Maintain all documentation relevant for area of responsibility
  • Analyze master data and work to improve processes around master data
  • Provide improvement suggestions to management
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally with focus in IT, supply chain or other related discipline
  • 3-5+ years of experience in IT or data management


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • High degree of customer orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple data sources with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and able to work cross functionally with all levels in the organization
  • Computer user skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to learn new systems

Interact independently with internal and external parties, has the knowledge to make independent decisions
