POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced communications specialist who will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring Amideast’s digital communication, marketing and outreach. The incumbent’s main role is to support and enhance internal and external digital communication initiatives to increase the awareness and reach of Amideast’s services and brand. This includes the creation of engaging digital content that promotes and reinforces long-lasting relationships with existing and potential customers, clients and donors. Requirements include excellent social media, graphic and website design, and related technical skills as well as advanced proficiency in Arabic and English. The incumbent will work closely with our HQ-based communications team and staff in our 11 country offices throughout the MENA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist HQ and country offices to define communication objectives and articulate messaging
- Collaborate closely with country offices to design engaging digital posts and campaigns aligned with the intended messaging
- Ensure that digital content is accurate, consistent and abides by Amideast’s digital branding
- Ensure that digital content is adaptable for use in multiple channels (social media, website, email marketing, and print)
- Contribute to the development of a communications calendar for various channels (social media, website, email marketing, and print)
- Gather and analyze data on effectiveness, impressions and reach of communication campaigns through reports and analytics using tools such as Google Analytics
- Manage Amideast/HQ’s social media accounts (i.e., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Collaborate with HQ and field office staff to design and implement outreach communication campaigns to retain current and reach prospective customers
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Communications Director
- Review and contribute to website content translation into Arabic
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent digital marketing certification
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in social media/marketing, communications and analytics; preferably in an international context
- Demonstrable track record of delivering effective and innovative digital campaigns
- Proven ability to research and develop compelling, authentic, and persuasive content ideas
- Well versed in digital storytelling with ability to create descriptive storyboards
- Graphic design skills and experience in digital content creation (infographics, GIFs, memes, etc.) using Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier), Canva, and/or other graphic design software
- Ability to design and create content relevant for diverse audiences, cultures, and nationalities
- Proficiency in video-editing software
- Familiarity with Hootsuite, Facebook ad campaigns, social media metrics, Google AdWords
- Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects across different countries and regions
Preferred
- French language skills
- Experience working in NGOs, non-profits, and/or in educational institutions
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and/or AP Stylebook
- Familiarity with digital accessibility and the creation of accessible digital content
- Knowledge of and experience in SEO optimization and best practices
