FOCUS

The Director, People Central + West will act as a people leader and business partner to Central + West VEG hospitals. The role works with our Regional Medical Directors and Regional Ops Directors to ensure a consistent approach to talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, compensation and benefits to name a few. This role lives within a matrixed structure combining our talent, culture, education + wellness teams to ensure our culture and well-being initiatives are alive and well across the entirety of VEG.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

  • Lead & develop a team of People Partners across the Central + West regions
  • Ensure the recruitment + development of the best and the brightest in our hospitals - your focus will be on keeping the hospitals staffed in partnership with our recruiting team
  • Scale hospitals in new markets by researching market data, employment + labor laws,
  • Developing our leadership talent in the most seamless and welcoming VEG way-combining technology, human interaction + simplicity
  • Handle employee relations issues, within the VEG WAY, while looking into and leading resolutions to positive outcomes
  • Ensure people issues are given full consideration in all decision making for your region
  • Work to develop innovative, creative guidelines and standards to ensure effective, fair, + consistent treatment of our teams across VEG
  • Provide advice, information and support to your partners and teams on our approach and culture
  • Participates in the Performance Management Process + other initiatives and programs
  • On-going Human Resources projects and initiatives
  • Adhere to the philosophy of continuous improvement. You will continually evaluate all HR processes, systems and initiatives. Are they the best we can offer, are they outdated-you will continually deliver improvements

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 10+ years of progressive HR responsibility
  • Familiarity with HR Information Systems + Payroll applications (PayCom)
  • Understanding of HR analytics + data-you can interpret + analyze data to action
  • Strong knowledge of state, local + federal employment/labor law
  • Strong ability to resolve issues with positive cultural + legal outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, Post graduate classes a+
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task maintaining confidentiality a must
  • Ability to travel as needed for initiatives, challenges, meetings and openings to name a few (majority is domestic travel within the region)
  • Energetic, motivated, passionate self-starter
  • Loves animals and caring for them

BENEFITS

  • Pay Range: $160,000 - $200,000 salary per year
  • 401K w/ company match

  • Paid parental leave - 10 weeks of paid leave at 100% of regular salary
