The Nuclear Enterprise Assurance (NEA) Division, NA-121.4, has a need for a full-time Governance Deputy Program Manager (G-DPM) to support the NEA Governance Lead in all activities associated with managing NEA programmatics within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).

This is a full-time contractor-support position located on-site at the NNSA offices in Albuquerque, NM. The individual will report to the NEA Governance Lead.

The G-DPM, via delegated authority from the NEA Division Director, will be responsible for helping to communicate vision, strategy, plans, policy, requirements, processes, and measures to support the NEA Division Director in management of the NNSA Office of Defense Programs’ performance and success in executing the NEA Program. The G-DPM will primarily and directly be responsible to support the NEA Governance Lead in their responsibilities to lead the execution of programmatics, policy, requirements, assessment, oversight, and workforce development activities.

The work to be performed is significant in scope and requires an experienced individual with demonstrated program/project management expertise, policy and requirements, and communication skills; the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment; and the ability to interface with broad range of federal, military senior staff and leadership.

The G-DPM will actively participate in technical and program management reviews, navigate complex issues, and effectively communicate and integrate strategies, plans, and results to a wide range of stakeholders. The individual must exercise judgment, plan effectively, and accomplish goals based upon program planning and mission performance. The individual must work independently, creatively, and under minimal supervision by the NEA Governance Lead.

The ideal candidate must be familiar with the NNSA’s nuclear weapons program and have experience in working on a diverse team of SMEs in the broad area of countersubversion. The ideal candidate must be sufficiently technically capable to be considered credible with the cognizant SMEs from within NNSA and from across the National Security Enterprise sites (design agencies, production agencies, etc.) The ideal candidate must have demonstrated -attention to detail, extraordinary customer service, and problem-solving skills to be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Finally, the candidate should be flexible, with the agility to respond quickly and appropriately to changes in demands on the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 15 years of related experience.

  • Active (current) Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” clearance and ability to obtain higher-level specialized clearance for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal program management and program integration.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in coordinating with multiple stakeholders across diverse organizational cultures, priorities, and responsibilities.

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.

  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills; ability to synthesize information into meaningful messages for various audiences.

  • Experience working in a high-performance team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing interfaces between NNSA/DOE, Nuclear National Laboratories, and Nuclear Production Agencies.

  • Related experience in a government, DOE, or military office.

  • Demonstrated experience in working NEA.

  • Knowledge of NNSA SD 452.4-1, Nuclear Enterprise Assurance policy

  • Knowledge of the substantive nature of NNSA Nuclear Weapons programs and activities; missions, policies, and objectives; and management principles and processes for assessing program development or execution and improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency with emphasis of Phase 6.X process and Defense Programs Business Process System.

  • Experience in executing Federal acquisition activities.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.


Requires an active DOE Q clearance or
DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $128,050.00 - $197,000.00 - $265,950.00
