Compensation for this position is in the $49k to $55K range depending on qualifications and experience.
Summary: The Junior Outreach Coordinator will support the outreach and communication efforts of the American Foreign Service Protective Association (AFSPA), including the Senior Living Foundation (SLF).
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties & responsibilities of a Jr. Outreach Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:
- Create artwork based on vendors advertising graphic design specifications.*
- Initiate contract negotiations with advertising vendors.
- Manage digital ad analytics and publications' reaches to create targeted ad campaigns.*
- Create and maintain advertising schedules. This included monitoring contracted publications to ensure ads are run on time, invoices are received, and vendors obtain payments. *
- Create and execute innovative outreach initiatives.*
- Attend and present at health events on military bases.*
- Plan agency health events in conjunction with designated federal agency Human Resources points of contact.
- Respond to Open Season health fair invitations and schedule AFSPA representatives to attend.
- Represent AFSPA and SLF at various meetings and events.*
- Producing webinars or other online forums.*
- Order and prepare promotional or event materials for Open Season trips, health fairs, receptions, seminars off-site meetings, and new hire classes.
- Assist with the planning and execution of organizational special events (i.e. AFSPA Annual Member Meeting, SLF's Planning for Change, etc.).*
- Assist the Outreach Manager with the expansion and execution of the AFSPA Ambassador Program.
- May assist with domestic and international travel arrangements, such as booking flights, and cars, and making hotel, and restaurant reservations. This will involve ensuring all outreach promotional materials reach their destinations.*
- Coordinate and support internal AFSPA meetings by preparing physical space and capturing meeting notes.
- Compile appropriate mailing lists for various correspondence to include Open Season mailing and email marketing campaigns. *
- Manage invoices to insure payments to vendors.*
- Other duties as assigned*
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations or a related field.
- 1+ years experience in an office environment.
- Intermediate knowledge of or experience in graphic design specifications, advertising scheduling, and webinar development.
- Intermediate level of experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience in email marketing.
- Above-average oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Work Location:
The following are work locations that AFSPA utilizes: New Carrollton, Maryland Satellite Office; Washington, DC Headquarters; and hybrid remote. Work location will be assigned and/or changed based on business needs and at Management's sole discretion.
