OUR EXPECTATIONS
The Kitchen Manager/Baker is responsible for carrying out operations and productions that takes place in the kitchen such as baking, recipes and preparation of all desserts, cakes, and sandwiches. This individual is responsible for maintaining the in-store production process to make the work place safe and hygienic for all employees as well as assign the team daily baking duties and take the lead on weekly ordering schedules. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baking, quality, customer satisfaction and safety of the work place.
You will be responsible for;
- Hiring and training bakers, cake decorators and sandwich team cooks/preps
- Regular check-in's and training of in store kitchen staff
- Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Implementing appropriate workflow
- Rolling out of our new specialty menu items each season
- General Oven Duties (Checking dough conditioner)
- Preparing all needed materials and ingredients
- Responsible for scaling and shaping of all breads, loaves, and pastries
- Managing the inventory and ordering stock as needed
- Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organizing repairs when needed
- Handling staff issues, such as sick leave and attendance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary

A successful candidate will need a proven track record in a senior role with at least 2 years’ experience. Well organized; self-motivated; takes initiative; good at delegating; ability to prioritize; ability to manage workflow; ability to maintain high standards with food quality; financially responsible; proficient in excel; ability to successfully manage cost of goods. A flexible schedule is preferred and you must be able to comfortably communicate in English and Spanish (not mandatory).
