The floats primary role is to fill shifts for others. A typical work load would be around 80-130 hours per month. This position will cover our Provo, Heber, Park City, and Nephi locations covering shifts for approximately 15 other staff. The individual hired for this position will be crossed trained to be able to perform medical assisting and front office responsibilities. Includes $300 signing bonus!
Medical Assistant I
Advanced Foot & Ankle Center
The MA provides support to physicians while providing exceptional care to patients. The MA ensures that patients are welcomed in a warm and friendly manner and sees that their needs and expectations are met. MA's are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.
Key Responsibilities
(1) Coordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experience
(2) Prepares patients to be seen by physicians, collects vital signs and testing as required by the provider
(3) Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in EMR system
(4) Monitor, clean and sanitize assigned patient examination rooms, unit areas and unit equipment; reports outdated supplies, stock levels and restock set levels of items and necessary equipment repairs
(5) Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient’s records, locating and compiling department charts, and obtains necessary medical records from other providers
(6) Performs diagnostic tests and processes and enters results
(7) Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider
(8) Provides timely response to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasks
(9) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email, as well as ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
(10) Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries
(11) Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments
(12) Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager
Minimum Requirements
This position requires verifiable, successful completion of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software, basic understanding of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications
National Medical Assistant Certification
Successful completion of a medical assisting externship
One or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
One or more years of demonstrated customer service experience
Experience working with an EMR system
Experience as a medical scribe
Phlebotomy experience
CPR Certification
X-ray certification

Receptionist/Front Office
The receptionist provides support to physicians while providing exceptional care to patients. The receptionist ensures that patients are welcomed in a warm and friendly manner and sees that their needs and expectations are met. Front office staff is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure a positive patient flow and experience from entrance of facility to reception room. Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming manner
- Verify insurance eligibility of patients
- Compile medical charts, reports, mail for pick-up and any correspondence
- Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in EMR system; verifies accuracy of patient record
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments for next day
- Receive co-pays and payments, dispense receipts. Sell and dispense products as directed by physician. Manage payment ledger, balance cash daily.
- Answer telephones, direct calls to appropriate staff. Receive and route messages and documents such as laboratory results, shoes, or orthotics to appropriate staff
- Perform filing, charting, and scanning of necessary patient records. Promptly file patient charts, pull patient charts in time for next day appointments
- Perform various clerical and administrative functions such as operating phone system, voicemail system, fax machine, word processing, and EMR system
- Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager.
Minimum Requirements
