About the Role
Braven is entering into a new phase of exponential growth and an exciting opportunity to concretely advance the economic mobility of 80,000-100,000 Fellows in the near future. To that end, Braven is hiring a Program Manager, Accelerator - BravenX (PMA) to run our leadership and development course, the Braven Accelerator. The PMA is a masterful programmatic operator responsible for running the course for our Fellows in order to increase their likelihood of graduating college with a strong first job or getting into graduate school. The PMA will be responsible for facilitating and managing the experience of hundreds of college students (typically Sophomores) as they complete the course. You’ll also support a caseload of teaching assistants and part-time student interns.
This role is on the BravenX team and reports directly to the Managing Director, Chicago.
What You’ll Do
Accelerator Program Management (70%)
- Fully managing the facilitation and execution of the Braven Accelerator course and lightly supporting the post-course experience for BravenX; This includes but is not limited to:
- Run signature Braven Learning Lab (2-3 days/week for 14 weeks of a semester). This includes operations, logistics, project management, and facilitation for 200+ attendees
- Ensure all course-related events are logistically sound and of consistently high quality. This includes reviewing items such as weekly impact survey and attendance completion, responding to Fellow and Leadership Coach concerns, etc.
- Support a group of Teaching Assistants to ensure Fellow grades are accurate and that we’re meeting student mastery goals, including supporting Fellows of concern
- Conduct weekly data analysis to consistently evaluate, validate, problem-solve, and iterate on the program
- Share design input and feedback with Product team
- Responsible for all Fellow launch and outcome based goals
Leadership Coach and Coaching Partner Recruitment, Coaching, & Development Support (10%)
- Support the recruitment, coaching, and development of Leadership Coaches and Coaching Partners (working professional volunteers who coach and support Leadership Coaches) via strong project management in close collaboration with the Managing Director
- Observe and provide feedback to Braven volunteers weekly to support them to improve their own facilitation and coaching skill sets.
A+ Team/Management (15%)
- Participate in individual annual and quarterly planning
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage teaching assistants and part-time student interns
- Collaborate with the Program Manager of Recruitment and Program Manager of Workforce Strategy to cultivate a strong Fellow experience, and lightly support the post-course experience.
- Collaborate with Braven’s central teams and their counterparts in other Braven regions to align on best practices for Accelerator execution.
Brand / Sustainability (5%)
- Help build Braven’s brand by sharing compelling stories with the External Affairs team
- Represent Braven externally as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 1 year of full-time experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from one of Braven’s University Partners
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in education, non-profit, or private sector with a verifiable track record of achieving excellence and successful outcomes
- Technical Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Asana
- Extreme comfort and experience with public speaking and facilitation
- Proven ability to operationalize and manage project plans, solving complex problems, strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and cultural competence
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- You have a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
- You exemplify Braven’s core values
- Your experiences have informed your belief in Braven’s mission and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required

Work Demands
- Ability to work in-person in Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL), Newark (NJ), or New York City (NYC)
- Facilitating weekly (2-3 nights per week) programming sessions each lasting 2 hours. Sessions are typically from 5:00-7:00 PM CT and usually take place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
- Facilitating 2-3 remote/in-person weekend and evening events (i.e. volunteer training, etc.) each semester typically held in the evenings or on Saturdays.
Additional Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $49,000 - $61,200 for Atlanta, $51,500 - $64,400 for Chicago, and $55,700 - $69,600 for New York or Newark. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process.
Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include:
- Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide holidays and three team-wide, week-long shutdowns in Spring, Summer, and Winter (this is a minimum of 24 days per year)

Location
We gather in the office two to three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of one of our hubs: Atlanta, Chicago, Newark, or New York City. Each teammate can use at least two flex days per week of their choosing to work remotely.
