• Lead & direct assigned engineering activities of the project teams in order to achieve successful market introduction according to the New Product Development Process (PIF)
• Develop components and systems solutions that achieve target functionality and performance
• Coordinate development testing and failure analysis
• Work with suppliers to ensure purchased component cost efficiency and performance
• Support manufacturing on fabrication and assembly issues
• Cooperate with marketing to ensure product output satisfies customer needs
• Develop patentable solutions to practical user based or marketing anticipated needs and trends
• Proactively anticipate and seek out innovation, quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities for new and existing products

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• 5 years of electromechanical design experience in consumer products preferred
• Structural & thermal simulation including Ansys FEA
• System definition including requirement derivation
• Measurement equipment including micrometers, calipers, visual measurement systems MicroVu
• Experience with Minitab and Windchill PDM Link
• Ability to derive design concepts from requirements, consider functional, material, production technology as well as economical aspects in the design
• Ability to select appropriate design elements based on design concepts
• Ability to adapt existing design elements according to new requirements
• Ability to define special characteristics and drive BOM
• Ability to perform and, if necessary, initiate calculations on the strength, service life, wear, dimensioning and weight of the parts to be designed
• Pro E experience preferred
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
