Skills / Requirements

The Quality Management Coordinator (QMC) is accountable for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of HCHD assigned quality program. The coordinator works with the Director of Clinical Effectiveness to develop the performance improvement plan for the district. The QMC facilitates implementation of Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence and provides reports relevant to achievement of goals. As Applicable, the QMC is accountable for coordination of the HCHD Quality Recognition Program and targeted outcomes achieved on assigned programs. The QMC provides ensures area care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with the Quality framework. The QMC is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that cultivates exemplary quality programs. As a member of the quality leadership team the QMC establishes a setting that supports professional practice. The QMC ensures compliance with standards established by professional quality organizations, national, state, and local regulatory agencies, and institutional policies and procedures. The QMC is accountable for quality programs that uphold high standards of integrity and ethical behavior.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Education/specialized training/licensure: a. Current, valid Texas RN License
b. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor‘s degree in nursing or related field required. Masters degree in nursing or related field is preferred. Holds at least one on the following in nursing: Bachelors, masters, or doctoral degree.
c. Applicable professional certification in administration or clinical specialty is to be completed within two years, if not held at the time of appointment. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Other certificates as required by unit/service.

2. Work experience: Three years of work experience in related clinical area of practice.
3. Management experience: One year related management/leadership experience is required.
