Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

1 year transportation experience or equivalent.

Ability to work with multiple teams across the organization.

Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. High aptitude for technology.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn safety regulations (FMCSA, OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation, safety training methods, claims management, etc.).

Strong interpersonal skills.

Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and supervision of company safety & compliance programs with the goal to reduce accidents and workplace injuries. The role will utilize a variety of electronic and verbal communication tools and techniques to support local & companywide programs to improve behaviors that are related to identifying and eliminating risk while promoting safe operations and adhering to federal and state regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.

Ensure company safety & operational model compliance and provide feedback to senior management.

Support a culture of excellence in the quality of products to internal and external customers.

Lytx Admin: Review video events, track & assign inventory of equipment, monitor and resolve malfunctions, coordinate & review coaching done by managers needed to improve driving behaviors.

Claims Administration: Claim intake, insurance reporting, data & evidence gathering & preservation, initial adjuster. communication short of claim strategy, calendaring & scheduling claim events (depos, request for information, etc.), subrogation & property damage cost tracking.

Compliance Administration: Collaboration with the Safety Coordinator to ensure complete and accurate Safety and DQF reviews for new hires along with on-going reviews of an employee’s MVR, CDL, Medical Certification, and Random Drug & Alcohol testing.

ELD (Electronic Driver Log) administration- enforcement of Hours-of-Service regulations, unassigned driving events, and compliance with part 395 regulations

Safety Initiative Support: On-site roll out & implementation of safety policies, coach onsite leadership on best practices to support safety.

Site Visit: Facility inspections, safety training/meeting, accident investigation, vehicle checks, PPE checks, corrective action planning, audits as needed/directed.

Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.

SPECIAL FEATURES/CONDITIONS

Ensures and exhibits environmental consciousness and safe practices in decisions.

Ability to travel by car or public transportation as needed to meet business needs.

The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to utilize computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit

The employee must have use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

May work extended hours during peak business cycles.
