Job Title – Senior Engineer R&D – Tracer Diagnostics Services

Department – Tracer Diagnostics

Reports to – Engineering & Logging Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Engineer R&D is primarily responsible for Research and Development for the Tracer Diagnostics Product Line including equipment design, testing, and improvement. This role will lead personnel in field trials of new equipment/procedures/etc. Additionally, the Senior Engineer is also responsible for creating and documenting required drawings, technical specifications and SOPs for equipment operations and maintenance.

Key areas of responsibility

• Design, test and improve Tracer Diagnostics equipment in field and laboratory settings
• Provide technical support and facilitate communications among the Sales, Operations, and Business Development team
• Champion new products & technologies through development, field testing & performance data studies
• Take lead on assigned projects with objectives including product performance improvements, NCS processes improvements, and product cost reduction opportunities
• Liaison with Engineering and/or third parties on field design and modifications
• Interface with clients/field service personnel directly if problem jobs occur
• Take lead on assigned NCR investigations
• Prepare third party software modelling reports for Sales, Customers, and Operations
• Prepare Technical Sheets for Sales and Operations utilizing NCS developed applications
• Assist other NCS Product Lines as directed
• Help to promote safe work practices and higher standards of performance
• Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer
• Align individual goals with NCS’s corporate goals, while adhering to and promoting the NCS Promise
• Participate in Personal Development for Success (PDS)
• Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University or Certified Engineering Technologist with 2 years of relevant work experience; required
• 1-2 years minimum industry related experience including coiled tubing, fracturing, drilling, downhole tool operations or tracer diagnostics; required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
• Work with other teams, and exhibit effective communication
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent judgement, high level of efficiency & work ethic
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, manage priorities
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to perform job responsibilities in all weather conditions
• Perform physical labor when necessary, in addition to standing or travelling for long periods of time
• Ability to move or lift 25lbs – 50lbs

• FLSA Status: Exempt
• Employment Classification: Full-time, Regular
• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, on call 24/7 for technical reference, holiday and weekend work will be required at times
• Special Equipment: Truck provided during remote operations, issued Cell Phone & Laptop
• Travel: Domestic travel to various field locations and international travel may be required
