We are looking for a Shipping Office & Logistics Assistant to support our Specialty Chemicals Team in Rochester, NY.

  • Management of all External product movement which includes the following major responsibilities: Understanding all current requirements, Area specific regulations and expectations, to safety move Hazardous and Non hazardous products domestically and internationally.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in assisting site planners, chemist management and Shipping Coordinator with problem resolution with day-to-day shipping issues.
Required Knowledge/Skills & Experience

Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledgeable in multiple computer and system programs SAP, Word & Excel
  • Knowledgeable in all modes of transportation Land, Air and Sea with ability to plan and schedule shipments.
  • Ability to identify to create, improve/ update shipping work instructions.
  • With the ability to train WH team members.
  • Capable of identifying appropriate packaging, shipping labels and mode of transportation to safely ship product based on products quantity, haz- classification and global shipping destination.
  • Managing multiple, simultaneous shipping orders
  • Defines, prioritizes and allocates resources effectively to meet shipping schedules
  • Plan, and prioritize assign work to meet internal & external customer needs
  • Strong knowledge of chemical classification ratings.
  • Strong attention to procedures, and details.
  • Strong attention to government and safety regulations (foreign and domestic)
  • GHS knowledgeable.
