Responsibilities

The Onsite Insurance / Medicaid Representative will be responsible for working with patients who are uninsured or under-insured to assist them in applying for Insurance and Medicaid.

Duties:

The Onsite Representative will be responsible for the following:

· Conducting interviews with patients and family members through face to face meetings as well as through telephone contact.

· Possessing knowledge of government eligibility programs.

· Collecting information and documentation in order to complete eligibility applications for Medicaid

· Supporting management in maintaining client goals.

· Performing other duties as assigned by Manager or Director.

· Possessing knowledge of hospital account receivables and business office operations.

· Exhibiting exemplary verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Job Requirements

· Preferred knowledge of medical terminology.

· Professional appearance

· Ability to interact with clients and co-workers with mutual respect and professionalism

· Required experience in the use of various Microsoft Office software applications

· 1-3 Years of hospital revenue cycle experience preferred

· Maintains compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality standards

· High School Diploma or GED required

· NY Certified Application Counselor

· NY State of Health Certified Application Counselor

REQUIRED - NY State of Health Certified Application Counselor (CAC)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

• Healthcare Navigator: 1 year (Preferred)

• Financial Counseling: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CAC (Preferred)
