Asbury Tower in Asbury Park, NJ is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and direction of the Congregate Services and Social Services Department. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and anticipating needs and services of residents. Ensure residents are receiving meals, housekeeping, laundry and grocery shopping services as requested. Ensure proper equipment and supplies are on hand at all times to ensure quality of service is provided in a timely manner. Ensure resident satisfaction at all times.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and supervise Housekeeping staff, Bus Driver, and Assistant Congregate Services Coordinator
  • Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner consistent with Springpoint Senior Living policies and procedures
  • Ensure all staff are oriented on the Attendance Policies and Procedures, Corrective Action Plan and the entire employee handbook.
  • Ensure proper and adequate scheduling of staff at all times
  • Complete annual budget and utilize SAGE system for billing; prepare for audits as needed
  • Schedule and coordinate events involving outside agencies for events with programming that is beneficial to the residents and their overall well-being
  • Create monthly newsletter and calendar
  • Provide an annual Social Service Assessment which identifies any special needs or problems that may exist
  • Involve families when possible and as necessary to advise them of changes in the condition of the resident
  • Provide ongoing counseling of residents as they deal with issues concerning themselves, other residents, family members, friends and staff
  • Participate in continuing education to keep abreast of latest information as it relates to residents
  • Other duties as related to the essential functions of the job as assigned by Management

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, social work or gerontology is suggested but not required. Three (3) years experience in an independent living or long-term care facility, or other Health related organization dealing with the elderly and disabled.
