Skills/Qualifications:

Communication skills, Time and Organization Management, Conflict and Personnel Management, DOT Regulations, Ability to travel/operate company vehicle, Valid DL, Preferred CDL-A.

Role:

• Critique existing safety policies and procedures for inadequacies/noncompliance and submit resolution to management for approval.
• Maintain ADEQ and SPCC compliance and records.
• Develop a systematic process for risk management by analyzing existing and new business opportunities and design safety procedures or BPs to minimize accident/incident frequency, including workplace injuries
• Evaluate current OSHA reporting methodology and ensure accuracy and compliance of regulations
• Work with departmental managers to develop systematic processes and agenda for safety meetings relevant to specific work environments
• Schedule, compile, organize, conduct and/or direct quarterly safety meetings
• Develop an aggressive and comprehensive plan to reduce workplace injuries and subsequent MOD factor
• Conduct routine safety observations/inspections or internal and external operations; provide feedback and corrective action required with pertinent personnel to ensure resolution of deficiencies and compliance of safety policies
• Conduct routine driver inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and HTI/Mill safety policies
• Lead and participate in all accident/incident investigations until closed; ensuring proper communication and documentation is completed timely
• Develop an agenda, process, and monitoring system for ensuring Driver Managers, Yard Supervisors, Driver Trainers, WF Supervisors, and other departmental supervisors are knowledgeable, supportive, and compliant with safety policies and provisions
• Develop a working relationship with customer/mill safety managers to improve our working environments for employee safety
• Develop a safety recognition program that awards employees for their actions above and beyond expectations to improve our safety performance; submitting to management for approval and implementation
• Any other duties assigned by management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
